We are Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue (501c3), located in Brevard, NC (near Asheville, NC in the far western corner of the state). Our main focus (although we do a limited number of local adoptions), is to locate rescues to work with us to help save the animals we pull from our tiny 12 run (only 10 runs available in the winter) rural heart stick facility built in the 1950s. We are experienced in working with rescues and transports. We have implemented our rescue plan over the last 18 months and we have worked with wonderful rescues (and continue to do so), but we would also like to broaden our base of reputable rescues.

Before transporting to rescues, our animals receive the following:

Vaccinations – age appropriate including rabies, bordetella and dist/parvo
Spay/Neuter – age appropriate
HW testing – animals testing positive are treated before going to rescue
Quarantine – animals are quarantined for 14 days before going to rescue; puppies are quarantined and receive 2 puppy shots before going on transport
Transport – we work with several reputable volunteer transports whose network includes the New England/Northeast part of the United States
Health Certificates – all animals on transport are issued a certified health certificate supplied by our vet
Cats are also given combo test for Leukemia and Aids; s/n and given necessary vaccinations.

*Sponsorship - Many times, our animals are FULLY sponsored or partially sponsored; there is no vetting charge to the receiving rescue*

Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue rescues dogs and cats from Transylvania County Animal Shelter and gets them to approved rescue groups. In order to do that we have to foster them while they are totally vetted (all vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm tested) and then arrange transports.

We are a group of volunteers receiving no compensation for our work and depend on donations and animal sponsorship to achieve our goal.

Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue is dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats who are brought in to the high-kill Transylvania County Animal Shelter. In 2008, 71% of all dogs brought to the shelter were euthanized at the shelter. In that year alone, 432 dogs were killed. In 2009 after CAAR got involved, 80% of the dogs were rescued. So far this year CAAR has rescued over 400 dogs. But we need your help.
